Green Program – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle
At PrinterCorp we prolong the life of our products by reusing or recycling used materials into a feed stream for new products.
Through our partner’s recycling, consumption reduction and emission reduction programs we have diverted tonnes of trade waste products from land fill. Our take-back programs are not limited to machines and consumables, and in an industry first, we operate a parts recycling program.
Service parts are either recycled using the collection boxes at the customer’s premises or removed and returned by our service technicians to PrinterCorp’s designated recycling receptacles. In fact, our recovery rate of recyclable materials from copiers and printers that have out-lived their useful life cycle is currently 98%!
Material from our e-Recycling plant typically goes back into the production of reusable items that make a further contribution to the wider community and harmonise with the environment. These are often in the form of Educational materials, such as rulers, sporting equipment, or park benches.
Recognising the impact of Climate Change on the Australian environment, the PrinterCorp Groups environmental management policy is one of our highest corporate priorities and places us amongst the leaders in environmental management and corporate social responsibility.
Our environmental contribution is underpinned by our philosophy and belief that we are obligated to protect and preserve the planet.
An important part of our goal is to partner with our customers, sharing with them our extensive knowledge and experience. By selecting the PrinterCorp Group as your service provider, we’ll help you take steps to make your organisation more sustainable too.
Toner Cartridge Recycling Program
This is a free program designed to be used by our customers to deal with the waste produced once our toner cartridges and parts have been spent. By using PrinterCorp’s Toner Cartridge Takeback Program our customers can be assured that 100% of toner cartridges, toner bottles, waste toner containers, photoconductor units, fuser units, maintenance kits and other consumable products used will be recycled, achieving a recycling ratio of 100%.
The program has been in operation since 2001 and set the benchmark for the office automation industry then, and continues to set ambitious targets for cartridge collection to date.

Machine Recycling Program
As the community focuses more on the environment and clean disposal of commercial and other waste, it is vital that responsible companies develop voluntary programs for handling end of life products. No longer is it acceptable to dispose of office machines by committing them to landfill or shipping them offshore. It is for this reason that PrinterCorp uses the Ricoh Machine Recycling Program to help its customers to be more responsible for our environment.
This program is a free program designed for our customers for the recycling of their Ricoh machines once they have reached the end of their life. Since its launch in 2002, we have successfully recycled over 180 tonnes of Ricoh machines into reusable materials. It is an integral part of our Product Stewardship policy.
As a responsible organisation Ricoh has developed viable recycling options here in Australia rather than exporting our waste machines offshore and creating disposal problems elsewhere. We accept all Ricoh machines as well as third party machines (OEM) for reuse or responsible recycling. We are constantly refining the process of end-of-life recycling of machines in order to achieve a greater resource recovery rate and minimise the impact of our products on the environment.
